Precision
Rifle and Cabela's
...setting the record straight
We have had dozens of phone calls reporting to us a variety of reasons that
Cabela's employees are offering as reasons they do not have any of our products
in their stores or on-line. I thought I should take a moment to set the record
straight.
For many years we have been working with the same buyer in Sidney, NE. He
always had a open mind and really understood black powder and the market.
Together, we worked to bring some pretty cool products to the market. When
I designed the first polymer tip bullet made for use in a muzzleloader, the
QT, he latched on and did a great job of marketing them. He embraced many
of our accessories; our Super Rat cleaning jag, our T/C Locker Pin, and our
Vari-Flame primer adapter kit and gave them all a prominent spot it catalogues
and store promotions.
Then Cabela's had an internal shuffle and we ended up with a different buyer.
He was very closed minded and almost impossible to deal with. He seemed to
have no interest in moving forward almost like he was just waiting for his
working time to come to an end. Mid way through 2011 I decided that I had
had enough. When it came time to fill out the annual forms required to be
a Cabela's vender, instead of filling out the forms, I sent a letter telling
Cabela's that Precision Rifle was no longer interested in doing business.
Funny how things work out. The collective blood pressure at Precision Rifle
is way down and the sales are up. Thanks for your continued support.
