Bead blasted receiver and barrel. Reduces glare and gives the Savage a much higher end look.

The end of the barrel is cleaned up to where all lands and grooves are perfect.
Recessed, hand lapped, target style crown. 100% square to the muzzle for the ultimate in accuracy.

The screw that is used to cock the bolt is made of soft stainless steel and wears with very little use. We drill this screw and insert a tool steel dowel pin. It is many times harder than the original bolt and much better suited for the job.
A pair of 3/4" diameter pillars inserted into the stock for stability purposes. The addition of the third screw means that removing the bolt for cleaning or breech plug removal will not effect point of impact. Once sighted in, the gun will not change point of impact. Ever..
The bottom of the Savage receiver showing three 1/4x28 holes. This process is the final touch in making the Savage a complete muzzleloader. These conversions may turn the Savage into the ultimate muzzleloader available on the market today.
Three step bedding process is a mirror image of the receiver assuring absolute accuracy. Note the two pillars that will secure and support the Savage barreled action. Perfect fit; perfect finish.

Putting some Magic into the Savage 10MLII

To the best of my knowledge, this is the only COMPLETE Savage re-make available. Most of these improvements were referenced in my article on the Savage first posted in November of 2004. Since that time we have added the work to the crown and replacement of the screw that is used to cock the bolt.

The gentleman who performs the work on our behalf is a full time custom rifle builder. He is a machinist who builds benchrest rifles. His passion is making guns shoot better. Your Savage 10 ML II will be in very good hands.

Which models of Savage 10 ML II do we work on?
We only work on wood laminated Savage stocks.
We will not attempt this work to the synthetic stock Savage 10 ML II.

What is the turn around time?

Maximum three weeks and the Magic Savage is on its way back to you.

What is the price for the work?
Bead blast receiver and barrel, crown barrel with recessed target style crown, install 3/4" diameter pillars, install third action screw to receiver, bed action, install tool steel dowel pin in screw, adjust trigger.
Total: $ 375

Headspace breech plug: (see "Headspacing the Savage" ) $ 75

Should you decide to send us your Savage 10 ML II so you too can have a bit of Magic, mail your muzzleloader in a box that you are comfortable send through the postal system. I would get a $25 plastic gun case from one of the big box stores and ship in that. It will be returned in the same box you used to ship the box to us.

Mail to:
